I think many of us could sense that there was something very unsettling about both Sandy Hook and Boston – the happy, smiling families. Why? How? We know it is so very inappropriate to put on a happy face in the wake of the most traumatic thing one could ever imagine … the loss of a child or surviving a life threatening and devastating limb loss. The response wasn’t natural and it bothered me and I wanted to understand it. Many chalked it up to bad acting and their inability to show realistic signs of grief, but now that I’ve had a chance to research things about Sandy Hook and now Boston, I think I’m beginning to understand what we’re seeing.
If you haven’t noticed, the term Resilience is being thrown around constantly in reference to these events.
And Boston:
The first time I heard the term was during the Sandy Hook interviews and Dr. Woodall talked about the resilience of the town of Sandy Hook. I discovered that he was involved in the Unity Project – resilience of kids after trauma and had also worked for USAid in Uganda and had implemented the programs there.
DHS has resilience programs and the IFRC (International Federation of Red Cross) presented a Resilience program to the United Nations last fall. There is a very strong push so we really need to try to understand all of this.
If you search, you will find tons of resilience programs in every aspect of our lives – from schools to work to disasters and on and on. I believe that most of this ties into Agenda 21 because it’s about green living, sustainability and security. We really need to pay close attention to these programs because this will not be good for America.
I noticed that DHS recently initiated a Resilience pilot program at a handful of select universities. Drexel is one of them. I watched a short video that provided an overview of the program at Drexel and the goal is to identify shortfalls in the current security system so that they can recommend improvements that will soon be implemented in all universities and grade schools across the country.
And more details about the program -
Drexel University will work with the Department of Homeland Security to improve safety on campus. Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the partnership Tuesday, along with university President John Fry.
DHS has enlisted just seven schools to participate.
“All campuses around the country need to be prepared and have thought through ahead of time what to do if,” Naplitano said. “What to do if there is an active shooter? What to do if you have a shooter and a hazardous substance at the same time?”
The training would also help the campus deal with natural disasters and prolonged power outages.
The partnership will include training campus security and local law enforcement officers to respond to emergencies such as a shooting.
Universities applied to be included in this program, they wanted this. The goal is to make the schools more resilient, better able to withstand a disaster or shooting. How will they achieve this? By doing live-shooter drills and other emergency drills and then putting together strategies to improve the school’s security systems. People embrace it because they believe it is necessary and it will make them feel safe, but my fear is that we’re going to go too far and once the changes are made, they will never go back to freedom. We will be living in a complete police state. We already have to deal with unreasonable, unconstitutional searches and invasive pat-downs at airports. We can’t let them make all of our schools like airports and then next it will be everywhere. It is completely out of control.
Back to Sandy Hook and Boston. As I mentioned above, we all saw unnatural responses to the trauma there. I think that this was deliberate …. that it was not “bad acting” but it was a display of resilience. Sandy Hook had all of the training. They did DHS HSEEP training. They had a special EOC (Emergency Operation Center) that cost close to $500,000 partially federally funded. Connecticut signed onto Project Longevity just weeks before the alleged shootings. So they had all of the programs. I think that whomever orchestrated the Sandy Hook event did so to show the world that these training programs and drills worked. “See? Everyone is resilient! Families are able to bounce back after this tragedy because we were prepared“.
It took me a while to understand this. It was so puzzling to see people respond to a tragedy this way but now that I understand the enormous focus on resilience throughout the world, I believe this was an example for all the world to see. And the result of the Sandy Hook shooting is of course increased security in schools, and that in their minds is all part of making the schools and the community more resilient.
Boston had a brand new $225 million rehabilitation center, Spaulding. It opened a week after the “bombing” and all of the amputees went there for their treatment. It is a resilient, green, sustainable building, and because they went there for treatment, they have all bounced back amazingly, attending sporting events, planning marathons, Dancing with the Stars engagements and on and on.
Of course it’s impossible to know for sure, but I believe this is why we’re seeing so many happy people. It’s because the communities were resilient. There will be much more of this with many different programs in schools, work, and communities. It is all part of Agenda 21 and they are making it seem like it’s a wonderful thing. These events were advertisements for these programs.
